About Our Destination
Climate
The climate in September ranges from 39°F-63°F in Jasper and Banff, though it has seen highs into the low 70s in recent years. The probability of rain is about 26%. Check www.weather.com for the most current weather.
Currency
Canada uses the Canadian Dollar. We suggest bringing about $100-$150 Canadian per person to use for any additional tipping or purchasing small items. Passport and Visa
All guests (including guests from countries other than the United States) will be required to have a passport. Passports must be valid for six months after your return date. US citizens do not need a visa for this trip. If you are not a US citizen, please check visa requirements with your country’s consulate and the Canadian consulate.
Vaccinations
Please check with your local Public Health Department or personal physician regarding immunization requirements for all countries on your itinerary. You may also check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website at: www.cdc.gov. Click on the Travelers’ Health tab, then click on Destinations, and choose your destination from the “For Travelers” pull-down menu.

Airport
You will need to fly into and out of Calgary, Canada (YYC).

Flight Arrival and Departure Times
Arrivals: All flights arriving into Calgary (YYC) on September 10, 2022 should arrive no later than 4 pm. Transfers are on your own to the host hotel. Taxis from the airport are approximately $40-$45 CAN. We will have a meet-and-greet gathering at the hotel in the early evening.
Departures: A group motorcoach transfer is included on September 17, 2022. You will be transferred directly from our hotel in Banff to the Calgary Airport at approximately 9 am. Please choose a flight that departs from Calgary (YYC) after 1 pm. The drive time from Banff to Calgary is 1½ to 2 hours.
Luggage Allowances
Tour participants may bring up to one piece of luggage per person plus a carry-on. Due to limited motorcoach capacity, your single bag should have dimensions not exceeding 30”x21”x11” and weight not exceeding 50 lbs. Carry-on bags should not exceed 12”x11”x6” and must be small enough to store in overhead bins or under the seat in front of you on motorcoaches. For safety reasons, wheeled carry-on bags are not suitable as hand luggage on motorcoaches.

Should you wish to book an additional hotel night prior to September 10, please contact the Delta Hotels by Marriott Calgary Downtown directly to reserve a guest room with 2 queens or 1 king. Your room on September 10 is also in a guest room with 2 queens or 1 king, so you will be able to stay in the same space when the program begins. Check-in time is 3 pm.

Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise: Fairmont Guest Room
These comfortable guest rooms overlook the chateau grounds. Located in the main building, Fairmont guest rooms are ideal for an individual or couples. These are equipped with modern amenities for comfort and convenience such as an alarm clock/radio, cable television, coffee maker, hair dryer, and kettle. 230 sq. ft. 1 queen, 2 queens, or 1 king. Upgrades available.
Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge: Fairmont Guest Room
Located throughout the property, Fairmont guest rooms are ideal for individuals and couples. They offer cozy cabin accommodations with their own outdoor patios. 275 sq.ft. 2 doubles, 1 queen, or 1 king. Amenities include cable television with in-room pay movies, Keurig coffee machine and kettle, unstocked mini refrigerator, ceiling fan or electric fan, deadbolts and security, viewport, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, telephone with voicemail, and windows that open for fresh air. Upgrades available.
Mount Royal Hotel Banff: Centennial Room

The voltage is 110, which is the same as the US.
Gratuities
Gratuities to your bus driver and your local Tour Manager are included in the cost of your trip. Should you wish to tip additionally, this is up to you. Gratuities are not included with optional activities.

There are laundry and dry-cleaning facilities available during the trip.
Smoking policy
All hotel rooms are non-smoking. Smoking areas on each property will be designated.
Solo Travelers
On these small trips, we usually have a few solo travelers, who mix and mingle with everyone. There are no Solos coordinators for a trip this small; however, you can start to meet other solo travelers online before the trip on the Olivia's 2022 Canadian Rockies Land Adventure group Facebook page
After Your Trip
Departure
We will depart after breakfast for our group transfer to the Calgary Airport at approximately 9 am on our final day, September 17, 2022. We will arrive at the Calgary Airport at approximately 11 am. Be sure your flight is booked for 1 pm or later.


The entire trip does require a certain level of mobility, including walking on uneven terrain, gentle hiking to get to scenic spots or hotel accommodations, and getting in and out of a bus. While you are at the hotels, we can recommend tours or activities that are not as active if you prefer. If you do have limited mobility that requires assistance, you are required to travel with someone who can assist you. Not all of the rooms are accessible on these properties, so please let us know if you have any mobility issues.
