NDA charges are not included in the price of the trip but have already been added to your reservation as reflected on your invoice.
These trips do require a level of mobility, as the ship has no elevators and has steep stairwells to get to each deck. Wheelchairs and scooters cannot be accommodated on this ship. If you do have limited mobility, you are required to travel with someone who can assist you.
Travel documentation and identification
No passport is needed if you are a U.S. citizen, but you will need a photo ID. If you are not a U.S. citizen, please check with both your country’s consulate to make sure that you do not need an entry visa or other additional documentation.

Please check with your local Public Health Department or personal physician regarding immunization requirements for all countries on your itinerary. You may also check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website at: www.cdc.gov. Just click on “Traveler’s Health” followed by “Vaccinations.”

Travel and arrival
Where to fly into/out of
You will need to fly into Moloka’i (MKK) Airport, and out of Kona (KOA) on Hawaii (Big Island).
Suggested arrival/departure times
For all flights arriving into Moloka’i, arrive to Moloka’i (MKK) on January 20, 2018, no later than 2:30 pm. You will be transferred from the airport to our host hotel to rest before our group transfer departs for the ship in the late afternoon.
For all flights departing out of Kona (KOA) on Hawaii (Big Island) on January 27, 2018, please make your flight for after 12 pm. You will be transferred directly to the Kona Airport after breakfast. An option to be dropped off at our host hotel will be available for those who either booked late flights after 5 pm, or are overnighting in Kona. Transfers to the airport for these guests will be on your own.

While there is no luggage limit on the cruise itself, airlines often restrict (or charge) for excess baggage. Because each airline is different, and the regulations change over time, please check with your airline for baggage allowances.
During your trip
Transfers and meeting up with Olivia
Getting to your ship
You will be greeted at the Moloka’i Airport and transferred to our host hotel. You will be transferred from the host hotel to the ship in the late afternoon. We will provide name of host hotel as we get closer to the trip.
The beautiful, Un-Cruise ms Safari Explorer offers the following onboard amenities:
- Kayaks, paddle boards, inflatable skiffs, snorkel equipment, hiking poles and full-beam swim step for easy access in the water
- EZ Dock launch platform
- Underwater, bow-mounted camera
- On-deck fitness equipment, massage room
- Large AV screen in the lounge
- DVD and book library

- Included bar stocked with premium spirits, wines and microbrews
A program outlining each day will be posted on the bulletin board by the lounge daily, and will be on your in-cabin TV for reference.
Open seating policy
The entire dining area is open seating for all meals. Dining room hours will be posted in the Daily Program.
There is one restaurant on board. Breakfast and lunch are generally served “buffet or family style” with a choice of three different entrees served for dinner (usually a meat, fish, or vegetarian). Most all dietary needs can be accommodated with advanced notice, including vegan.
If you have any celebrations and birthdays during the trip that you have not already advised your travel consultant about, please let us know as soon as possible but no less than 90 days prior to the trip.

The entire ship operates on US electrical current, 110-volts, 60 cycles.
There are no elevators on the ship. Guests must be able to navigate very steep stairwells.
Internet / email
Internet access IS NOT AVAILABLE on board. Prepare to unplug completely during the week. Most phone companies can access data on the Hawaiian Islands. Please check with your carrier.
Gratuities are included in the cost of your trip. Gratuities go to the naturalists, cabin stewards, bar staff, dining room staff and other behind-the-scenes crew members.
Please note the ship does not have laundry facilities on board.
There is an EMT on board for any minor emergencies. Should you need further medical care, the ship will go to the closest port for assistance. For your own protection, we highly recommend you are covered with medical-evacuation insurance.
Money: Paying for things on board
There is very little to charge or pay for on board since most everything is included. At the end of your trip, you may opt to pay for small purchases through cash or credit card. No cash advances are possible.
No telephones are available on board except for emergencies. There are a few stops in local towns where you can make calls, if needed. Cell service depends on your carrier and locations. Some of the more remote locations do not have service.
The ship is completely non-smoking except for an outdoor area of a specified area on board. Smoking is not permitted indoors, including cabins.
A 30-minute massage is included. The scheduling of your time will be made on board. There are no other opportunities for additional Spa Services during the week on board.
We average a few solo travelers on these trips who mix and mingle with everyone. For a trip this small, there are no solo coordinators. You can meet other solo travelers online by joining the Hawaii II Facebook Group.
