I read all of the angry posts in the 35th Birthday Bash group and I can understand their frustration.  When we had booked our last cruise (Cruise for our Cause, March/April 2008), we were PROMISED a DVD of our trip only to find out months after we returned (and after trying to contact Olivia on several occasions) that they did not produce one for our cruise.  We were SO angry but they made it up to us by giving us an onboard credit for this cruise.  Granted, it wasn't a promise of big name entertainment that they screwed us on but it's still about customer service and delivering what's been promised to the customer.  It's not the first time it's happened and I'm sure it won't be the last.

The November cruisers will still have an awesome time because it's an Olivia cruise and they really do aim to please.  Smile

As for OUR cruise, it may not be listed on the Olivia site but Vickie Shaw's website has her performing on the March 2009 cruise!

Maybe Olivia is trying to avoid having to make changes at the last minute and the disappointment that goes along with that.  I've been reading the 35th Birthday Bash messages and there's one thread that has taken a negative turn because people feel like the entertainment that was promised, and motivated them to book the trip, hasn't materialized.  

I get the feeling that a lot of people are going to show up for that cruise already determined not to have a good time.  I would just as soon avoid that kind of negativity for our trip.

I wish I knew what was going on with the "entertainment"... usually you see some of the regulars listed as musicians and comedians.... and I am getting kind of worried... cause none of them are listed yet.  (where are you Vickie, and Suede, and Suzanne, and Julie W.??)Crying

Suzanne would be the best as she is still my favorite.  I have seen her only one other time.  Even my son thinks she is a riot.

 I'm really curious now about the music as well.  I think we are just anxious to go.  Can't Wait!!!!Paradise

They will definitely add more entertainment closer to the cruise although I'm kind of surprised they haven't announced who the big musical entertainment will be yet.  Kate Clinton will be hilarious, Renee Hicks is kind of an Olivia regular and very funny...she was on our last cruise.  Hoping they book Suzanne Westenhoefer!

Can't wait to find out who the big music act will be!  Big Smile

I am slightly concerned that I haven't seen Suzanne, Vickie, Suede, Julie Wolfe or any of the "regulars".  I love them all and am spoiled completely!!!

Missy Higgins opened for the Indigo Girls when we saw them....Julie Wolf (who was on our last Olivia cruise) played with them too!  Big Smile

Missy Higgins would be great.  She toured with the Indigo Girls recently. 

 Missy is from Australia and all the rage on the lesbian scene down under (no pun intended).

We just saw Kathy Griffin last night in DC...she was HILARIOUS!!!!!  Looks like our big comedy entertainer will be Kate Clinton...she's great too!  Heart played on our last cruise and they totally ROCKED!  Would love to see Melissa Etheridge or Indigo Girls (even though we just saw Indigo Girls a couple of weeks ago here in Baltimore).  Wink
