I was born in New Orleans and lived there until I was 9 and now I live on the southshore near Hammond.  Looking forward to meeting some Louisiana folks on the cruise.  GO SAINTS AND LSU TIGERS!!!!!!

My house faired pretty well. I have minor damage to my home. I least I still my home and it is repairable. I was lucky I have insurance. My family's homes were all spared heavy damage also. So we are all ok here and looking for the cruise to relax from all this strees. All I have to say is Ike stay away. lol

Glad to hear it's not too bad.  Anyone who has been through any type of natural disaster knows that while the event can be frightening, it's the recovery that grinds you down.  Yeah, we got three more of the suckers staring at us right now with Hannah, Ike, and Jo.  The Cape Verdes are giving birth to a real mean season this year.  Take care, Karen

Hello....well it looks like my Mom faired pretty well (we think).  We haven't made it back to Houma yet but it doesn't appear that the damage there is too bad.  Mom has a big generator that runs on natural gas and powers up the house....we've called the house and the answering machine picks up so that's a good sign that the generator is working and any damage is not significant enough to trip it.

 Now, Grand Isle, that's a different story.  From what we are hearing we likely lost the downstairs of the camp.  But, that's replaceable (as we found out after Katrina!).  We should be able to get on the island this weekend.

Well, he came in at Grand Isle and tore Houma up.  Please let us know how ya'll survived and any damage taken.  Hope all is well, Karen

Our prayers are with all of our Luzianna sisters, this looks to be another tough mother coming at you, especially in the Baton Rouge and Houma area.  Having been through three here in Florida, I know I would evacuate for Cat 4.  Please let us all know how you fare after Monday.  Take care, Karen

Hi Torri...looking forward to seeing you on the cruise.

Crazycajun and Kimana....ol' Gustav looks to be a bad one.  Hope you and your families do okay.  My partner (Karen) and I went through Katrina...not fun.  Karen has been at our fishing camp on Grand Isle boarding up and is now in Houma boarding up my Mom's house (who is enjoying a care free barge cruise on a canal in Provence!).

I grew up the first 30 years of my life in New Orleans! We really miss home. Would love to meet others from LA.

I'm from Louisiana now living in San Antonio.  This will be the third cruise for my partner (Karen) and I.  We're looking forward to it.  You will love cruising with Olivia.

My partner and I are from Maurice, LA. THat is just south of Lafayette. This will be our first cruise. We are both nervous and excited about going. We were just wanting to see if anybody else from Louisiana was going to be on the cruise.
