Thanks for the info.  We just learned that some friends are arriving early and staying at the Intercontinental so we are going to crash with them the day of arrival and figure out what the heck to do the last day.

We are also on that flight. I explored taking some early tours but most did not start until 9:00. We had two options.  You can use the Intercontinental facilites for the day for about $ 90 per perosn if you also commit to eating lunch there. This means the pool, watercraft etc and you can take a shower.  We finally opted to get a room from 7:00 to 3:00. We needed to go back and  forthwith them because they orignially wanted to charge us for two nights since Check-out time is 11:00 am and check in time is around 3:0. We opted to get the room so we could gt a quick nap because the flight itself and the seats were not conducive to sleeping on the way over.

If you do not want to go the hotel route and can find a place to store yoru luggage, they have a great farmers market in downtown Papette which is within walking distance of the ship. Saturday is the day most of the locals come to this market from all over the island. In additilon, there are many other other shops that surround the big warehouse type builidng.

If you want to rent a car, there are some beautiful waterfalls about 45 mintues out of town and some nice views of Moorea in the distance.

Last year when we got the day room for the last day we ended up not getting much use of it. They take you on a tour and you do not get to the hotel untel around 3:00 and then you have to ready to go to the airport around 9:00. We decided to go home on the late Friday night flight since we had already done the Papette tour.

Hey Ladies, just booked Tahiti.  Never been there and our flight gets in at 5:30 a.m. the day of the trip and leaves at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.  I was thinking of a day room for the last day but I was wondering if anyone has any advice on what to do from 5:30 in the morning until 3:00 pm when we can get on the ship.  Debi and I are excited about the trip and looking for any information we can get our hands on to get ready.  Thanks  Kathy

I do appreciate your honesty and concern about snoring.  Am not sure i can handle it so will not put us both in  an uncomfortable situation.  I will probably still go early and hope to see some of Papeete.

That sounds like a fantastic idea! only problem is i snore badly!! and Im serious. I'm hoping that someone else has this problem so I wont feel guilty sharing a room. Let me know if you can handle it, I wont be offended if you dont take me up on offer, lol..

Early Arrival in Papeete

This is my fifth trip with Olivia as a Solo.  Each trip has been a great experience.  Is anyone arriving in Papeete early and if so do you want to share a room at the Intercontinental  Hotel and Resort?  I usually go a few days early and take a city tour.  In Buenos Airies, the person I shared a room with, we did the city tour, rode bikes and played golf.
